Bow Thruster
or Bow Pusher?

BOWREX™ 40 is a deployable Smart Bow Pusher for yachts — designed to assist docking without permanent hull drilling, tunnel installation, or underwater drag.

Carry it on board. Deploy it when needed. Retrieve it after use.

A practical, human-controlled bow-assist option for low-speed docking, undocking, and close-quarters maneuvering.

Certain technical details are intentionally not disclosed publicly while patent-pending intellectual property and broader protection strategy are being developed.

The practical problem

Bow assistance is often needed for only a few seconds.

Many docking challenges happen in short moments: a gust of wind, a tight slip, a narrow fairway, or a bow that needs help moving at low speed. Traditional bow thrusters can be excellent permanent systems, but they usually involve haul-out, hull cutting, installation work, wiring, and permanent underwater hardware.

1

Docking pressure

The bow often needs short, precise assistance near docks, slips, pilings, and marina walls.

2

Permanent installation

A traditional tunnel thruster usually requires a permanent modification below the waterline.

3

Another option

BOWREX introduces a deployable approach: use bow assistance when needed, then remove it from the water.

What BOWREX does

Controlled bow assistance when the boat needs it most.

BOWREX™ 40 is designed for boat owners who want practical bow control support during low-speed docking and marina handling, without permanently modifying the hull.

1

Docking

Helps the skipper manage the bow near a dock, slip, or marina wall during short, controlled maneuvers.

2

Undocking

Provides an additional bow-assist option when leaving a tight position or preparing to turn in confined water.

3

Tight maneuvering

Useful in narrow fairways, confined marina spaces, and other low-speed handling situations where timing matters.

Simple operating concept

Carry it. Deploy it. Assist. Retrieve it.

BOWREX is not intended to replace seamanship. It gives the skipper another tool for short-burst bow assistance during close-quarters maneuvering.

1

Carry

Keep the unit on board and prepare it before entering the docking maneuver.

2

Deploy

Place BOWREX beside the bow when the skipper expects bow assistance may be needed.

3

Assist

Use short, operator-controlled bow-assist moments during low-speed maneuvering.

4

Retrieve

After the maneuver, lift the unit back on board so it is not left underwater.

Smart Hull Landing™ + Ramp-Up Push

Feature names are public. Implementation details are not.

Smart Hull Landing™ refers to the BOWREX hull-side working concept used before bow assistance is applied.

Ramp-Up Push refers to the operator-commanded push concept used during short bow-assist moments.

The public explanation is intentionally limited to the customer-facing operating concept. Internal control details, component configuration, and implementation methods are not disclosed publicly while IP protection is in progress.

Operator first

BOWREX is human-controlled. The skipper decides when assistance is needed, how the maneuver should be handled, and when to stop.

Short-burst assistance

The system is designed around practical docking use: brief bow-assist moments rather than continuous underwater operation.

The complete unit

A compact deployable bow-assist product.

BOWREX™ 40 is a portable marine product concept that brings deck handling, hull-side positioning, operator control, and removable bow-assist use into one deployable system.

Built-in or deployable?

A bow thruster is installed. A bow pusher is deployed.

BOWREX does not claim that traditional bow thrusters are wrong. Permanent bow thrusters can be excellent solutions for many boats. BOWREX simply offers a different choice for owners who want practical bow assistance without cutting a tunnel through the hull.

1

No hull tunnel

No traditional bow thruster tunnel or permanent underwater tunnel hardware is required.

2

No underwater drag

Because BOWREX is retrieved after use, it does not remain underwater while sailing.

3

Use only when needed

Bow assistance is often needed in short docking moments. BOWREX is designed around that practical use case.

Port or starboard

Deploy on the side where assistance is needed.

Many docking maneuvers are planned before the boat enters the slip or fairway. BOWREX™ 40 is intended to support the skipper’s chosen maneuvering plan from the side where bow assistance is most useful.

Skipper-led approach

BOWREX supports the way experienced boaters already think: wind, leeward side, rudder, throttle, timing, and the docking plan.

Not a replacement for seamanship

The system is designed to support the operator’s judgment, not replace it. The skipper remains responsible for the maneuver.

A new practical category

Final product details, availability, and specifications may be updated as development, testing, launch planning, and IP review continue.

See it in motion

Public demonstration videos are being updated.

BOWREX Marine is reviewing public video content to keep demonstrations focused on customer-facing use: deployable operation, short-burst bow assistance, and retrieval after use.

Customer-facing demonstrations

Public videos will focus on what the product does for the skipper, not how the internal implementation is built.

Technical details protected

Detailed procedure, internal configuration, component setup, and implementation videos are not part of the public launch website.

Next step

Bow Thruster or Bow Pusher?

For yachts that need practical bow assistance without permanent installation, BOWREX™ 40 offers a different choice: carry it, deploy it, use it, and retrieve it.
